First Nation Artwork

I have a wide range of First Nation art, many of which were bought locally from the artist in person.  Please click on the pictures below to see original size:

"Two More Indian Horses" - Bev Doolittle

This piece was purchased from a gallery for $2500.00
It is under limited print, from a wonderfully gifted artist.  Time and special attention was paid to its framing, from individual cells for each of the three prints, beautifully placed feather accents, to the lovely plaque and signature.

$2000

Mavis

These pieces were painted on fabric and must be viewed in person to really appreciate the work done.

$100 each
$250 Lot

 Henry Letendre

These next three pieces of art were done by Henry Letendre, and bought in person before his death.  The first painting was done on canvas, and the next two on press board.

Canvas $800
Press Board 1 $725
Press Board 2 $725

Artist Unknown

I do not know a lot of this artist.  He was a client at the time and wanted to see what the city had to offer.  I had done him a favor and the next day when he returned he had painted one of these paintings.  The next time I saw him I purchased another from him.

$60 each

  1. I am Karl Hengst. hengst1937@gmail.com
I was friends with Henry and some of his children.
    I own 90 of Henry's work.
However, I moved away from Edmonton (his home city) in 2008.
It appears that you met Henry shortly before his death in 2011.
I am interested to hear how he was when you met him.
I never knew that he painted on canvass. Nice!
If you have time, write me a line please.
    I live in Antigonish, NS.
    Kind regards,
    Karl (Carlo) Hengst

  2. My mother saw Henry Letendre pallet knife painting and bought one of his pieces for me because she loved his work. I have one called 'homefires' with a mother and daughter intertwining their fingers to form a teepee with their arms. Some years ago I saw the father/son painting that matched it in a gallery but didn't manage to purchase it at the time. Do you know if it's still for sale somewhere? Or a print of it?
